lol I was just about to ask you the same thing, I was just reading your LJ and you have such an amazing life!

Actually it was a pretty funny day, because it started out with me remembering that I hadn't paid my house insurance, and "Hey, I should really get on that.." So I make arrangements with my brother to go pay that after school, head to class, and come back to bring some food and cookies home for Bronwen, who is sicker than hell and home from work. I call her on the way and she goes. "UHMMM.. DON'T COME HOME.." "Why not?" "WELLLL....THE TOILET BROKE AND OUR HOUSE IS FLOODED."

So I get home and our bathroom is tiny so only one of us can mop up the water, and grab my brother, drag him to pay the insurance, sit through the rundown of the house etc.. and assess the damage in the basement, because the water went into the vents and there's water EVERYWHERE. I don't know why, but I start to find the situation rather hilarious.

My uncle owns a manufactured home company ($$$) and so Bronwen phoned him and he sent a plumber who works for them over with a new toilet, and I found out that my cracked one is 50 years old! In his words, "You were crapping on a piece of history."

It actually was over very quickly and I think the irony of the "House is flooding, no house insurance" situation made it so funny to me. Everything is fixed and we now have a new toilet.

Wow, I just wrote you a novel, perhaps I should edit my post with this comment because it's a lot more explanatory than the actual entry! WHAT A GREAT WAY TO MEET A NEW FRIEND!

LOL, no, it's funny! The crapping on a piece of history bit & the home insurance factor!

We had a crazy toilet flooding situation once, too. It was about a year ago, I think, and it wasn't even our toilet, but it was a mess. We're in a downstairs apartment & the people upstairs were having a party one night. Thankfully, we were up late, because around 1:30 in the morning, our bathroom started flooding - from the ceiling! Amy went to their door & told them, and they were super embarrassed, but they came down to talk to us.

Apparently, they'd been having problems with their toilet overflowing for a while, and they were all laughing & making fun of the guy up there that night who caused the toilet to overflow, then he had to deal with the humiliation of our apartment being flooded! Poor guy!

It's crazy the things you care about in situations like that, but I was really pleased that the girls who came down from that apartment were looking all over our place in awe, LOL. We have a lot of super colorful stuff, and I think I've done really well decorating (Amy says that's the one gay gene she lacks, so I'm in charge). I keep meaning to do a video tour of our place, but I should. A lot of my friends have never seen it (I'm not from here, so everyone lives far away!).

Anyway, I think my life is pretty cool, but it's very calmed down from what it used to be when I was single! Now, we're like an old married couple, but I love it that way. ♥
